In 2013, Doncaster Council compiled a 'local list of important historic parks and gardens' that was updated in 2018 - see http://www.doncaster.gov.uk/services/planning/local-parks-and-gardens
We aim to add to Donaster Council’s local list with new/more information on selected sites.
We have compiled a 'long list' of 31 sites from which suitable candidates will be identified. Details of these sites can be found here: Review of potential sites in Doncaster district.pdf
Using our current methodology, employed in East Riding, Selby, Hambleton and North York Moors National Park Authority areas, we will produce an historic report plus site record form and statement of significance if site access has been gained. It is envisaged that we will look at up to 16 sites over approximately 2 year period (this is dependant on volunteers and access to resources).
