Update April 2022 by YGT

Thomas White's 1768 plan for Burton Constable has largely been dismissed as White received no further payments. However recent research (Turnbull and Wickham 2022, 168-172) has demonstrated that key elements of his plan including the haha around the Hall, the location of the kitchen garden and formation of the lake from the existing ponds were implemented. These were either done by the owner before Brown returned in 1772 or incorporated by Brown into his designs later.
