Welcome!
We have been supporting primary schools since 2007 and want to do more. At YGT we believe in the value of engaging young minds and bodies in gardening.
YGT for Schools is a free member resource. There is no membership fee. Our objective is to support primary schools in their garden-based activities, helping them to make the most of the curricular, social and health benefits of gardening.
What we do
Every year we choose a theme and each term we aim to offer or give something to our member schools. We believe it is important to present a variety of opportunities as schools and their needs vary. Here's a quick summary of what may be on offer to support this year’s theme.
- Gardening tools for children
- Grounds Development Awards
- Plants and seeds
- Support for a school's visit, or workshop on school grounds
- Books, worksheets and information to support teaching
Written material is often produced by members who have practical teaching experience. We do our best to speak your language and to cross reference key stage learning requirements in our worksheets.
