Esholt Hall was built by Sir Walter Calverley in 1706-9 and he laid out gardens and pleasure grounds around it including a walled garden, bowling green, ponds, plantations and walks. Further work on the landscape was done by Joshua Crompton between 1802 to 1806, with the designer, Adam Mickle II, providing advice.
