A public park laid out by the Borough Engineer in the early 1890s, incorporating features from the grounds of an earlier country house.

A landscape park laid out 1761-5 by Richard Woods to provide the setting for a mid C18 country house.

Pleasure grounds of c 1718. The park was probably created in the early C18 and early to mid C19 partially on the site of a medieval deer park associated with Helmsley Castle.

The woodland garden at Eagle Hall was probably laid out in the 1880’s and complements the house that was rebuilt by William Atkinson of York for the Hon H.E. Butler (later 13th Viscount Mountgarret) between 1876 and 1879.

East Rounton Grange park and garden was developed by three generations of the Bell family. Sir Isaac Lowthian Bell, a wealthy industrialist and an early patron of the Arts and Crafts movement, acquired the estate in 1866.

Eavestone Lake and Fishpond Wood shows signs of historic design with its sinuous lakes which have been dammed, high gritstone cliffs and accompanying careful planting and boathouse. The lakes may have been medieval fishponds for Fountains Abbey which is located c.5km to the east and was later modified by Lord Grantley in the late 18th century.
