Site search
- Keyword(s).
- A keyword search will search all record content, including titles, descriptions and report sections. This may result in additional records to the one you want if you are looking for a specific site.
- While we have tried to be consistent, you may need to try alternative spellings for places, features or names e.g. Lancelot Brown or Capability Brown.
- For exact phrases such as 'deer park' or a specific name, enclose keywords within quotes (e.g. “deer park”, “Thomas White”) to avoid searches that return individual words that may not be relevant.
- Map.
- The tree symbols denote a site record. Clicking a tree will provide a link to the site record. You can zoom the map in and out using the +/- buttons.

Broughton Hall
Formal gardens by William Andrews Nesfield of 1855-7 which are considered to be one of the best surviving examples of his work.

Burn Hall
Burn Hall has a modest park and garden of 100 acres, which was developed in the late 19th century alongside the main house. Since its conversion from a private home in the 1960s, some of the historic garden has now been lost but a significant amount of the original landscaping remains.

Burngreave Cemetery
Opened in 1860, Burngreave Cemetery was one of the first public cemeteries to be established in Sheffield.

Burton Agnes Hall
Gardens and small area of woodland associated with Grade I listed manor house.

Burton Constable Hall
Park and gardens laid out c 1769-82 to designs by Lancelot Brown, possibly incorporating ideas of Thomas White from 1768, retaining elements of an existing late C17 or early C18 layout, with a formal garden of early C19 date.

Busby Hall
The designed landscape of Busby Hall that we see today was the creation of William Marwood and his nephew, George Marwood, from 1765 to 1840. On inheriting the estate soon after coming of age, William employed the renowned designer, Thomas White, to transform the site from largely fields to a landscape park following the fashion of the day.

Byram Park
Byram Park was an important estate for the Ramsden family for 300 years following their acquisition of it in 1618. While most of the Hall has now gone, the woodland much reduced and the parkland turned into arable farmland, many features of the designed landscape remain including the lake and the walled kitchen garden.

Camp Hill
Camp Hill park and garden was first developed in the first half of the 18th century by its owner, James Hoyland, who was the head gardener at Castle Howard. The designed landscape that we see today probably dates from the early 19th century, when William Serjeantson rebuilt the main house.

Campsall Park
Campsall Park, the grounds of the former Campsall Hall, is the product of one man’s ambition to have a landscaped estate that matched his main house and perceived status in life. Bacon Frank inherited Campsall in 1762 from his uncle and spent the next fifty years trying to achieve his dream, commissioning two plans from Thomas White in 1771 and 1796.

Campsmount Park
The landscape of Campsmount Park reflects the continued ownership by the Yarborough family from the 17th century to the 1930s. Thomas Yarborough (1687-1772) masterminded the development of Campsmount Park.
